About Bitpower
Who We Are: Bitpower was founded in 2017 by David McAuley to connect the worlds of energy and digital. We focus on the power and sustainability aspects of the growing digital world. We work constructively across the full spectrum of stakeholders from industry groups and developers, to policymakers and utilities. We believe that collaboration is key to realising opportunities.
Our Expertise: Our insights into energy, low carbon technologies, and grid connections enable us to present a unique offering to clients. We know how the regulatory systems work, and are active participants in the energy and data ecosystems in Ireland. We have a proven track-record of delivering solutions for public and private sector clients.
What We Do:
Market Research - In 2017, we performed a detailed study of the sustainability of Ireland's data hosting industry on behalf of Host in Ireland. We produce a quarterly update and industry commentary. We're also working with Dublin's Financial and Technology districts to enhance collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Consulting - We provide a direct service to investors looking to establish their presence in the hugely successful data industry in Ireland. Our processes are well-defined and transparent, and are based on practical experience. We offer advice in energy masterplanning for data centres, and liaise with utilities and suppliers through the planning process.
Advocacy - The energy and digital industries are facing similar challenges - planning, grid connections, public perception, and impact on the environment. We believe that for innovative solutions to emerge, a common language needs to exist. By working across these industries, and with policymakers, we aim to bridge the information gap.
